"Ley Lines" by Tim Welsh, published by Guernica Editions, is set during the waning days of the Klondike gold rush in Sawdust City, Yukon Territory. I was commissioned to create a custom illustrated cover that captures the novel’s essence, starting with a quest that discovers a glowing ear floating mysteriously atop a mountain. The design aims to merge historical adventure with magical realism, drawing on a vibrant, psychedelic 60s and 70s style reminiscent of classic sci-fi paperbacks. Influenced by Ted Harrison’s expressive artwork, this custom book cover vividly embodies the unique spirit of Tim Welsh’s otherworldly narrative.
